Heavenly Jerusalem Painting Pale Pink
Mixed Media on Canvas, Hand Signed by Gitty
110x82 cm / 43x32 inch
A painting of a personal experience inspired by a calm walk Friday night after lighting the Shabbat candles. What a relief after a busy week! The colors of the warm old Jerusalem stone houses and walls were turning pink by the sunset; the history of time has created layers and texture on them.
I started the painting with neutrals running from light to dark, the pink blush popped out in the moody painting and acted as a ray of light when compared to the other colors and the cool green breeze on the trees, it completely changed the temperature while keeping the calm, even meditative feeling of the scene. It is painted with a palette knife to create lots of layers and texture. Perhaps in the hustle and bustle of a busy life, we might find some peace and an inner sanctuary of loving awareness.
Colors: Pale muted pinks, white, neutrals, brown, light olive green.
